Troubleshooting & FAQ
When something doesn't work, it's usually one of these. For pricing and product questions, the landing-page FAQ has quick answers too.
Jobs & sources
My job failed with a download error.
Some videos can't be fetched from a link - the platform may be throttling, or the video may be region-locked, age-gated or private. The reliable workaround is to upload the file directly (MP4, MKV, WebM, MOV): uploads skip the download step entirely and are the most dependable path. A failed job never costs you anything.
My link was rejected when I submitted it.
Channel pages and @handle URLs aren't clippable - the
pipeline needs one specific video or a playlist. Open the video itself
and paste that URL, or use a youtube.com/playlist link to
batch up to 25 videos at once.
The job finished but found no (or few) clips.
Two common causes. If you used AI instructions, they may be too narrow for this video - loosen them and resubmit. Otherwise the source may just be short on self-contained moments (long unbroken monologues and heavily musical content are the usual suspects); try clip anything mode, which doesn't depend on speech structure.
The transcript says "no speech found" but there is speech.
Very quiet, heavily music-covered or heavily accented audio can slip under the detector. Try a cleaner source file if you have one, and tell support - real examples help tune it.
Clips & files
Why is there a watermark on my clip?
Free-plan renders carry a small omnichrome.net watermark. Any paid plan removes it for new renders - see Plans & billing. Already-rendered clips keep the watermark; re-run the job after upgrading for clean versions.
Can I change the caption style after rendering?
Yes, for seven days after the render - the Restyle button re-burns captions in a new template without re-running the job. Details in Customizing clips.
What format are downloads?
Standard MP4 (H.264 + AAC), vertical 9:16, captions burned in - accepted by every major platform with no conversion. Transcripts download as TXT, SRT and word-timing JSON.
Should I keep my own copies?
Yes - treat OmniChrome as a workshop, not an archive. Download the clips you care about; on the free plan especially, old files are eventually cleaned up.
Account
Does OmniChrome work on my computer?
Any Mac, Windows or Linux machine with a modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari). Nothing to install; phones work for reviewing and posting, though editing is best on a desktop.
Can I use it for client work?
Yes - you keep all rights to what you upload and everything produced from it, and OmniManager is built exactly for multi-client delivery. Agencies usually land on the Studio plan.
Something else is wrong.
Email support@omnichrome.net with the video link or the project name and roughly when it happened - a human reads every message.
